Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

On April 24, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will have luncheon with Secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China Hao Peng who is on a visit to Korea.

Over the luncheon, Foreign Minister Cho and Secretary Hao will discuss ways to promote substantive cooperation between Korea and Liaoning Province, among others.

Secretary Hao’s visit to Korea marks the first by a Chinese Provincial Secretary since the outbreak of COVID-19. The visit is expected to contribute greatly to expanding exchanges and cooperation between Korea and Liaoning Province as well as to boosting exchanges between provinces of Korea and China.

Moving on, on April 24, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will have a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Luminița-Teodora Odobescu who is in Korea accompanying the Romanian President on his official visit to the country.

In the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers will discuss ways to smoothly implement follow-up measures to the Korea-Romania summit held this morning.

The two sides will also exchange views on issues of mutual interest including regional and global affairs.
