On March 20, Ambassador Jin Shan went to the National Bureau of Statistics of China to visit Director Kang Yi and held an arrival meeting. Director Kang expressed welcome to Ambassador Jinshan for taking up his new post in China and visiting the National Bureau of Statistics. Director Kang reviewed the exchanges between Japan and China in the field of statistics, expressed his gratitude to Japan for its cooperation, and expressed the hope to further expand exchanges.

Ambassador Kanasugi expressed his gratitude to Director Kang for his welcome and introduction. He also said that understanding China’s economic situation based on economic statistics is very important for the smooth operation of Japanese-funded enterprises. From this perspective, he hopes that the National Bureau of Statistics can cooperate with Japanese statistics and Multi-level communication is carried out between the economic department and the Japanese Embassy.

The Japanese side raised questions on macroeconomic statistics, including the real estate market, and the declining birthrate and aging population.
